Course Layout

Golf @ Jalil

Designed by well-known Australian designer Max Wexler, our 18-hole course is tough but not daunting, offering many different challenges even for the most seasoned golfer. Surrounded by lush tropical greenery and scenic views, Bukit Jalil’s 165-acre undulating greens are packed with obstacles including the infamous hole No.18 known to experienced golfers as a 'real test of one's swing'!

Hole 1 Par 4 / Index 3-342 metres

From a hillside tee, golfers are challenged to clear the stream which demands a 150-metre carry.

Hole 2 Par 4 / Index 9-363 metres

With the advantage of a high elevation tee off, golfers would do well to lay up for a mid-iron approach over the water.

Hole 3 par 5/index 17-472 metres

Relatively straight forward par five which should not be unduly penal unless you slice or hook badly. Play your second shot slightly left of centre to open up the pin to attack.

Hole 4 Par 3 / Index 15-190 metres

A long par three which favours a slight draw.

Hole 5 Par 4 / Index 1-381 metres

A good tee shot should clear the fairway bunker on the left and set up an easy approach to the green, which is guarded by two bunkers to the right.

Hole 6 Par 4 / Index 13-345 metres

The stream which separates the teebox from the wide landing area is no more than a psychological obstacle unless you duff your drive.

Hole 7 Par 4 / Index 5-400 metres

Take care not to slice your drive as OB lies beyond the buggy track on the right. The landing area is narrowed by two bunkers on either side of the fairway.

Hole 8 Par 3 / Index 11-128 metres

A nerve-testing par three with little room for error. Cleaning the water which separates the `bailout' area from the teebox is not a problem, but a slice or strong wind could land your ball in the water beyond the steep bank on the right of the green.

Hole 9 Par 5/ Index 7-460 metres

If you fail to generate good distance from the tee, you may be unable to see the water which threatens your second shot on this double dogleg par five. Take enough club on the approach to make sure you clear the bunker to the front left of the green.

Hole 10 Par 4 / Index 15-330 metres

One of the few straight par fours on the course, but under estimate it not as OB lurks on the left and a stream in the ravine on the right. A drive straight down the middle will set up a good birdie opportunity.

Hole 11 Par 5/ Index 16-330 metres

The tee shot has to negotiate the hill on the left and, on the right, the same ravine and stream which guards the right side of the 10th. Both the second shot and approach play uphill through a network of bunkers.

Hole 12 Par 4 / Index 2-355 metres

A stream and two pot bunkers on the right threaten a sliced tee shot, while wave like undulations on the fairway may give you an awkward lie even if you find the well-mounded turf.

Hole 13 Par 3/ Index 14-120 metres

One of the most dramatic holes of the course. A deep ravine on the right has to be avoided and extremely steep down green.

Hole 14 Par 4/ Index 18-318 metres

A pretty par four where a large bunker guards the behind of the receptive green.

Hole 15 Par 4/ Index 8-372 metres

Take a breather and enjoy the superb view from the teebox, which located on the highest point of the course. Bunkers guard both sides of the landing area while OB lurks on the left. A good drive is needed if you hope to be on in two.

Hole 16 Par 3/ Index 10-177 metres

The tee shot has to cross a canal and a huge bunker to the front right of the green. There is ample space on the left for a safe shot, but that would leave you with a tricky uphill chip to save par.

Hole 17 Par 5/ Index 4-495 metres

Bukit Jalil's Hole 17 demands a 150 metre water carry onto a tight, well-mounded fairway which doglegs first to the left, then to the right. A badly hooked second shot could find water, while sand and OB on the right make it prudent not to slice your approach.

Hole 18 Par 4/ Index 6-350 metres

Played from elevated tees, the tee shot has to clear a stream about 190 metres away to reach the landing area. From there play is uphill towards the green, which is guarded by a bunker complex to the front left and right.
